In order to promote the "A Taste of HIROSHIMA Project", six organizations including the Hiroshima Prefectural Federation of Life Sanitation Trade Associations, an organization representing the food of Hiroshima, launched the "A Taste of HIROSHIMA" Consortium.On the day of the event, Mr. Hidehiko Yuzaki, Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, and 6 organizations took the stage, and in the presence of Governor Yuzaki, each organization announced their policies on how to improve their food by making the most of their unique characteristics.

Governor Yuzaki said, "The G7 Hiroshima Summit will attract the attention of many people around the world, and is a great opportunity to spread the charm of Hiroshima to the world. Through this initiative, a wide variety of cuisines will be served in various places in the prefecture. As a result, people in Japan and overseas will become more aware of the deliciousness of Hiroshima, and the citizens of the prefecture will welcome visitors to Hiroshima with pride.I would like to create a virtuous cycle that will lead to the production of further prefecture-produced food ingredients,” he commented.

Mr. Kazuaki Shimohara, President of the Association of Japanese Culinary Skills Professionals in Hiroshima Prefecture, said, "Hiroshima is blessed with the rich nature of the Chugoku Mountains, and is rich in vegetables and other mountain delicacies. I would like to offer dishes that express the mountains and seas of Hiroshima using Japanese cooking techniques.”

In addition, on the same day, Hiroshima Prefecture will hold a project called “HIROSHIMA FOOD HEROES CHALLENGE” started recruiting.We are calling for challengers and supporters who will take on the challenge of creating delicious foods that have not yet been discovered by making Hiroshima's ingredients shine.The project will continue to solicit applications until August, and selected businesses will continue to provide food refinement support until the end of December.We are also planning to set up a venue to showcase the results.
